QNotepad provides a fast, local-first web-based notepad application featuring real-time continuous autosave, rich text formatting, Markdown split preview, multi-language code editor, spreadsheets, checklists, whiteboard sketching, and multi-format file exports (.txt, .md, .html, PDF).
- No Mandatory Accounts or Paywalls: Core editing functions are available without registration, account credentials, or credit card requirements.
- Ad-Supported Model (Google AdSense): In consideration for granting free access, you acknowledge that QNotepad displays digital advertisements served by Google LLC and third-party advertising partners. You agree not to obstruct, maliciously tamper with, or programmatically click advertisements.
3. Absolute User Ownership of Content
You Own 100% of What You Write:
QNotepad claims no intellectual property rights, copyright, or moral ownership over the text, formulas, code, diagrams, or documents you create. Because your notes are stored locally in your browser sandbox and encrypted client-side when shared, QNotepad does not license, publish, distribute, or sell your private work to third parties.
4. Acceptable Use Policy & Prohibited Activities
When utilizing QNotepad, including its public publishing route (/p/) and encrypted capability sharing (/share/), you agree not to use the Service for any unlawful or abusive purpose, including:
- Uploading or linking to malware, trojans, ransomware, phishing scams, keyloggers, or malicious payloads.
- Publishing content that infringes upon copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary intellectual rights.
- Distributing defamatory, harassing, threatening, illegal, hate speech, or sexually explicit material.
- Conducting automated denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, brute-force requests, or scraping edge API endpoints.
- Attempting to bypass client-side encryption boundaries or unauthorized access to other user envelopes.
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate revocation of shared capability links, termination of public publishing privileges, and permanent IP-level edge blocking.

QNotepad has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, practices, or availability of any third-party websites or advertisements. Accessing third-party links is done entirely at your own risk.
7. Local-First Storage & User Backup Responsibility
QNotepad stores your active notes locally within your web browser's sandboxed IndexedDB database. While this provides unparalleled privacy and offline reliability, it implies that:
- If you clear your browser cookies, local storage, or site data, your local database may be permanently deleted.
- Browser crashes, device hardware failures, OS reinstallations, or operating in incognito/private mode may prevent notes from persisting.
- You are solely responsible for maintaining periodic backups. We recommend routinely downloading full notebook JSON backups via the toolbar Backup menu. QNotepad cannot recover lost local notes that were never synced or backed up.
